Billing

Drug/Script Pricing - an integrated pricing set-up module to calculate the price of the drug dispensed. The system supports complicated pricing models.

Patient Billing - charges for dispensed drugs can be passed back to a patient-billing module for patient and /or debtor billing.

Retail Sales - “over the counter” items to patients or others can be captured through Billing. Prescription charges can be combined with over the counter items and paid in one bill.

Electronic Prescribing

Helps manage the medication process by integrating seamlessly with other features.

The Prescriber creates drug orders and either transmits them electronically to the pharmacy for dispensing or prints them to be handed to the patient. Shortcuts are provided to allow fast, easy and safe prescribing. Drug monograph information can be displayed to the user to allow ease of prescribing.

At the time of prescribing the following checks are performed

• Drug Allergy
• Drug Interaction
• Drug Condition
• Drug Dose

Authorised personnel may override the alert by entering the reason for their action, which is tracked by the system.

Inventory and Stock Control

A fully functional inventory system used for general stock control as well as Pharmacy related stock.

The module supports the complexity of a multi-site and multi-store environment and provides the following features:

• Regular or routine orders (for example, weekly)
• Ad hoc orders
• Return stock
• Write off's (for example, expired stock)
• Recalculate minimum and maximum orders based on history
• Reports
• Automatic purchase or indent order routines based on stock levels.

Pharmacy Dispensing & Labelling

Designed to dispense drugs prescribed by authorised Health Care Providers.

Clinical checks are performed by interfacing to a drug database such as First Databank. The checks include:

• Drug-Drug interaction
• Drug Allergy
• Duplicate therapy checking
• Dosage checks

Authorised personnel may override the alert by entering the reason for the action, which is tracked by the system.

Dispensing from multiple locations is supported. Prescriptions may be manual or electronic, passed through an interface or seamlessly from IBA Health's Electronic Prescribing. Automatic dispensing is supported.

If stock control is available, the store stock level will be adjusted as the drug is dispensed, modified or returned.

Pharmacy Manufacturing

Facilitates the compounding of drugs to make another drug, another form of the same drug or a mixture for easy administration. This includes the following processes:

• Cytotoxic Reconstitution
• Intravenous Admixture (IV Admixture)
• Extemporaneous

The system manages the stock deduction of the ingredients used, costs involved and different stages of the manufacturing process.

Purchase Orders

Allows the user to determine what needs to be purchased, to enter purchase orders against suppliers and to receive the goods when they arrive. The module also captures allows costs against these goods and can be used for purchasing stock that is not pharmacy related.

Also provides information on outstanding orders and expected arrival times. The solution supports Contract Purchase Orders and Blanket Purchase Orders ensuring flexibility in managing suppliers and customers.
